WreckAge Vagrant

A brooding miniature indeed. I very much liked the simplicity of this model and though it was very original. You don't see many miniatures in this state of rest. I could go on but you can see for yourself below.

I'm always eager to see what these guys have next for me. Until next time, cheers!

Finished! Dark Vengeance Chaos Lord

As promised I painted up the chaos side of the HQ's from the Dark Vengeance set. I went about it with a looser plan that usual and just let my brushes do the thinking. I'm happy with the end result. I wasn't feeling the happiness quite as much in the middle of the project but that is the joy of painting sometimes. I'm glad I pushed through. My only real plan was to focus on black, gold, and red. Then purple happened :)

He's all grown up now now and off to the wilds of ebay. I really like the chaos side of the dark vengeance set, so far I've painted the Lord and Helbrute. Maybe the cultists will meet their fate on the tip of my brush someday..someday.

That's all for now, time to get back to it and finish off a very moody piece from the folks at Wreck-Age.

The Emperor's Champion

Thanks to Kevin at Fire for Effect Games I was able to gather the necessary bits to build an Emperor's Champion for the Black Templars. A torso swap, Black Templar helmet, and appropriate iconography did the trick, Thanks Kev.

As per usual I don't have much need for this guy, just making them for the fun of it. Well, selling on E-bay too but the painting is no less fun. Check out the auction, along with some others, right here. On the slate for tonight is the Chaos Lord from the Dark Vengeance starter.

Here's a little glimpse of the natural state my work bench often reverts to :) A happy state indeed.

The Shades of Gore part 2

This was fun, one of those projects where you don't know exactly what direction you want to go in. I laid out my pallet of blue, green, brown, ivory, and purple. All the colors you'd expect to see in a bruise. The shades of gore. The pictures have denied me a completely accurate tone but hopefully you can still see where this is going. It's not showing the green and ivory tones like I'd want it to but I'll save the tampering for the picture that matters when he's done.

I took an early shot of my pallet when I had just begun to work. A little washed out but I wanted to show it anyway.

I'm liking him a lot so far and I will bide my time and work slowly, similar to the patience of Goreshade himself..Nerd.

Finished! Terminator Librarian

After finishing Ezekiel, the Dark Vengeance Librarian, MK3 Boarding Marine, and now this guy I'm drowning in blue. Time for a change indeed. This was a recent job handed off to me earlier this week on Wednesday. I was happy to help as it's for an army being painted for the person's son. Makes you smile doesn't it?

I'm going to take a break from all the blue and between drinks sink some time into Goreshade over the weekend.

Finished! Dark Vengeance HQ's

Well for the good guys at least. Thanks to Kevin I acquired two of the Dark Angels HQ's from the starter set. These are great models, intense detail. After assisting him clip over 200 Dark Vengeance boxes I couldn't resist any longer. I had to paint these guys up. Not to be ignored I think I'll paint that fantastic Chaos Lord next but I'm getting ahead of myself. On with the pictures.

As I have no real use for them and an ever increasing amount of miniatures filling my cabinet I've decided, just this once, to make them available to you. Place your bets here...Come on, by now you probably saw that coming.

The Shades of Gore

Today's plan is to get some time in on a character that is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. None other than the Iosan bad boy himself Goreshade the Bastard. I'm going to be putting together a small Cryx force in the next couple months. Mainly for the heck of it, I just need a reason to paint legions of the undead. The Trollbloods still have my heart but I'm taking a small departure from the blue to add more color to my display cabinet.

Here's Goreshade in a very primal state. The idea is to use colors that are rotten yet beautiful.

Starting this guy means I'm calling the boarding marine done :) Here's a little preview of his cool blueness. I should have him up and running tomorrow so cross your fingers.

Break it up Break it up Break it up, Wreck-age!

Three new drifters from Wreck-age :)  As outline in the last post I'm sticking to the agenda. No more dilly dallying! I could write plenty but you wouldn't read it anyway, kidding..On with the pictures!

The Agenda

With a fresh shipment from Wreck-age and a personal project nearing completion I have my work cut out for me. I'm hoping to get this motley crue based, primed, and fully prepped this afternoon. The sculpts from these guys just get better and better. I know it's a fuzzy picture but stick around as they near completion to get a closer look.

Last night was spent like many Wednesdays, happily tinkering away at the Fire for Effect Games headquarters. I made some progress on the model that belongs to the base I put up a couple posts ago. A show only Forgeworld piece. Like I said, not done yet but here's where he is at the moment. Almost there :)
